A local shop in Molteno Street, Coronationville, burned out on Tuesday May 19 during morning hours.
It is alleged that the fire began due to an electrical fault.
Upon examination, a local electrician said that the main electrical box was overloaded and had too much plugs and wires inserted.
There were no injuries reported after the the fire broke out.
All the products burnt to ashes in the shop.
Shop owner Mohammed, was heartbroken after the incident.
There was speculation that it was a xenophobic attack but residents denied and gave reason for the claim.
Police were on the scene but could not do much because it was an electrical fault.
