New school for Everest Primary

Everest Primary to have Grade R classes in its own building on the school premises.

Everest Primary in Dowling Avenue is rebuilding the school.

According to the principal, Brian Berry, the school management team and school governing body have been in talks with the Department of Education for two years over the refurbishment.

The department insisted on using expensive products for re- building but Berry thought otherwise.

‘’The department wanted us to use asbestos and other expensive material, but because of the vandalism and theft, I stated brick and mortar would be more effective and easier to repair if broken or vandalised,” said Berry.

The new entrance will be in Wanderers Street and the Grade R classes will have its own building in the new school.
