Orlando protesters’ case postponed

Nine out of the 12 accused provide state with wrong addresses.

The 12 accused Orlando protesters appeared at the Orlando Magistrate Court today after they made their first appearance at the Protea Magistrate Court last week.
Their case was taken back to Orlando Magistrate Court as the incident happened in Orlando.
There is still no bail application as some of the accused provided wrong addresses to the state.
The court therefore ruled that they will remain in custody for further investigations as the state still needs to verify their addresses and check if they have any other criminal records.
The case has been postponed to May 21 at the Orlando Magistrate Court.
Families of the accused are very disappointed as they thought the court would be lenient on their loved ones and release them today.
