Man killed during hijacking

Hijacked victim shot dead and locked in the boot of his car.

Lieutenant Kay Makhubela has confirmed a hijack incident that occurred in Mayfair in which an 80-year-old male was shot dead and dumped in the boot of his car.

“We can confirm that he sustained gun shot wounds but not sure how many.

Makhubela said a 23-year-old grandson, who travelled in the hijacked vehicle, was dropped off in Dobsonville by the thugs, where he urgently reported the matter to the police.

Three armed men had hijacked a white Honda vehicle which was later found abandoned in Dobsonville Extension Two.

No arrests have been made.

“We’ve launched an investigation for a case of murder and hijacking.”

In another similar incident of hijacking which happened in Bramfischer a week ago, no arrests have been made regarding the murder and hijacking case of Charlotte Madibuseng.

Madibuseng, a 33-year-old mother of two children, was shot outside a school and died on the scene.

Two armed men drove off in her vehicle but it was later found abandoned by police in Dobsonville Extension.

“We will appreciate information from anyone who has on these cases,” said Makhubela.
