Kliptown police have issued a public warning about the growing trend of car theft at the Avalon Cemetery.
It has been reported that the syndicate is targeting vehicles with foreign registration.
Police have received reports that while unsuspecting victims are busy with funeral proceedings, perpetrators help themselves on their vehicles.
Two cases are being investigated by Kliptown police.
Both vehicles were stolen at the cemetery.
One is from Lesotho and the other from Mozambique.
Mourners are urged to always be vigilant during funeral proceedings.
Any suspicious people and vehicles loitering in the graveyard must be reported by calling Kliptown police on 071 675 6825.
