MMC for Housing councillor Dan Bovu attended the walkabout proceedings at the JOSHCO housing development in Dobsonville Extension Two.
Bovu said the building of the residence is an answer to the call that not all employed people had a roof or a place to stay.
“JOSHCO is not looking to benefit out of this project but residents definitely will benefit. R52 million from the R200 million budget will be used for community empowerment purposes,” he said.
Bovu said the units will be subsidised and aimed at people who earn less than R3 500 monthly.
