Naledi police successes

Weekly police success and arrests.

The Naledi police have noticed an increase in common crimes around Naledi.

Police communications officer Thulani Mbambala says many arrests have been made on theft mostly.

Last week Monday a man aged 25 was arrested for shoplifting at Shoprite U-Save in Emndeni, he was found in possession of Parmalat cheese sachet.

On Tuesday a woman aged 36 was arrested for shoplifting at Naledi Shoprite, she was found in possession of Grandpa tablets,  while in a separate incident three men were arrested for assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm in Tladi and Naledi.

Later on Tuesday six men were arrested for possession of dagga, in Naledi and Emndeni, while a man aged 50 was arrested for malicious damage to property.

On Wednesday a man aged 30 was arrested in Shoprite U-Save in Emndeni for shoplifting, while another five men between ages 25 and 43 were arrested for being in  possession of dagga.

On Thursday  a man aged 20 was arrested for theft, while another 22-year-old man was also arrested at Shoprite U-Save in Emndeni for shoplifting, he was found in the possession of a deodorant and two other men aged 22 and 30 were arrested in Emndeni for being in possession of dagga.

On Friday a man was arrested for the contravening a protection order in Zola, while a 36-year-old man was arrested for intimidation, while another man was arrested for shoplifting in Naledi Shoprite, he was found in possession of Parmalat cheese worth R89.

Later on Friday the South African Police Service in conjunction with the JMPD conducted a special operation next to Tladi Clinic where four men between ages 23 and 40 got arrested for driving under the influence.

On Saturday a young man aged 19 got arrested for shoplifting at Naledi Shoprite, he was found in possession of a Pond’s facial cream and deodarant, while another man aged 28 from Naturena was arrested for being in possession of an unlicenced firearm and ammunition.

On Sunday 12 men between ages 27 and 60 were arrested for drunken driving on Matshaya Road while another was arrested for theft.

Later on Sunday two motor vehicles, a white VW Polo and maroon Opel Corsa bakkie were recovered at Emnedeni, police are still investigating further on the matter.
