EFF help revamp Valentia’s house

Burnt house rebuilt.

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) Ward 27 Branch helped revamp Valentia Corbett’s house which was burnt last year.

The house was allegedly torched by a drug dealer, who accused her of being a police informant.

“This is part of our founding manifesto, the principle of bringing back the dignity of our people,” said Thabiso Mollo EFF leader.

He said, “We heard about this in December, and in January we came as the EFF and donated blankets and clothes to the family and promised to fix the house.

“Most of the windows were broken and none of the furniture in the house was salvageable.

“All her personal belongings and important documents were destroyed by the fire, and her house was blackened from the flames.”

Mollo said, “An amount of R100 000 was donated for the revamping of the house.

“The house is not a 100% complete, but it will be done.”

“We also donated food parcels to the family, on a daily basis.

“It is our duty and social responsibility to assist our people,” Mollo said.
