Blessed to be a Blessing, on Saturday, handed 1000 loaves to residents in Riverlea Extension.
The area that is plagued with poverty got some relief when over 20 volunteers went door to door, giving bread and praying with destitute families.
” I remember holding the 1000th loaf of bread in my hand of which the person that received it gave their life to Jesus, Saturday was more than a success,” Lawrenzo Koeberg from Blessed to be a Blessing said.
Most homes had no less than five occupants with an additional three families in their backyard.
“This couldn’t have come at a better time because we have nothing in our cupboards.
“We needed the prayer because my husband and I are going through some problems,” a resident said.
Blessed to be a Blessing aim to cover many communities who are struck by poverty.
