Man robbed of his money and cellphone

Police are looking for robbers who used fake police IDs to lure their victim.

A case of robbery is being investigated by the Kliptown police following an incident which took place at Maponya Mall last week where a man was robbed of money and his cellphone.

The victim had just walked out of the bank at the mall when three males driving a white Toyota Corolla approached him.

It is alleged that the suspects produced police identification cards pretending to be police.

One of the armed men got out of the car and grabbed the victim before forcing him into the vehicle.

In the car the victim was tied with a shoe string. A cellphone, R500.00 and bank cards were taken from him.

They dropped him off somewhere in Pimville and they drove off.

He did not manage to get the registration plates of the suspect’s vehicle.

Suspects are still at large and no arrests have been made.
