Men sentenced for double murder

Families still feel the void left by their dead sons.

After a two year court battle, justice has finally come for the families of murdered Bradley Cass and John Ross Pienaar.

This after Lucky Raman and Rezano Ryan were sentenced to 16 and 24 years respectively.

The two men who have been convicted of the murder which occurred on January 1, 2013, were sentenced to lengthy jail terms at the Protea Magistrate’s Court.

Cass and Pienaar leave behind four children between themselves.

Dawn Maconi, mother of Cass said that she accepts the courts ruling although she hoped that the two accused men would be given even harsher prison sentences by the court, she was hoping they would get life sentences.

She also described how Bradley was a loving and caring father to his two daughters and that a void has been left in their lives.

Yvonne Pienaar, mother of John Ross Pienaar said that they will have to raise their son’s two children and has no words to describe what a loving father he was to his children.

The magistrate who sentenced the two murder accused said murder was a common crime in the area and was rife especially in Eldorado Park, and by the harsh sentences the court wanted to send a message to would be criminals that crime would be met with the full might of the law.

Pienaar was stabbed 11 times and thrown with a rock on his head while Cass was stabbed in both lungs.
