MEC celebrates International Women’s Day with residents

The house where a tragedy took place is now one of hope.

Celebrating International Women’s Day on Sunday, MEC Faith Mazibuko gave food parcels to three families in Eldorado Park.

A family of 10 who survives on child and disability grants expressed their gratitude to Mazibuko.

“The food will last for a few days but it will make a difference,” Natasha Naidoo said.

She was involved in a car accident in 2010 resulting in her disability.

She lives with her boyfriend and his family and none of them are employed.

Mazibuko advised the family to go to the job placement centre in Extension six (Crystal Mall), where their details will be placed on a data base.

Another woman was in tears when Mazibuko visited her.

The woman who lives with her three children does odd jobs and sometimes gets R100 a night.

The families also received blankets.
