SGB elections kick off today

Parents are encouraged to participate in SGB elections.

Parents have been urged by the Gauteng Department of Education to take part in this year’s School Governing Body (SGB) elections, which will take place from March 6 to 28.

According to the department spokesperson, Phumla Sekhonyane, these elections will see over 2 400 Gauteng public schools participating with over 2.1 million ballot papers.

Sekhonyane said: “These elections serve as an opportunity for all parents to take charge of their children’s education by actively participating in the election process.

“They also work as an opportunity for all parents to have a say on who they want to be elected in the SGB of their children’s school.”
