Their case, however, was postponed for pre-sentencing reports to be submitted.
According to Soweto police spokesperson Kay Makhubela the reports carry information by social workers and probation officers which must be submitted to court following findings after speaking to the boys.
Makhubela said the teenagers face murder charges and have appeared in court on numerous occasions since their arrest.
In their first trial, which was postponed, each of them was taken to the Sterkfontein Psychiatric Hospital for mental observation.
Thandeka Moganetsi (15) and Chwayita Rathazayo (16) were found dead at an open field in Dobsonville last year – in what is suspected to be an act for a ‘satanic ritual’.
They had sustained injuries on their bodies, and right in the scene police discovered three black candles and two razor blades.
Both of them were buried at the Roodepoort Cemetery.
