School talk addresses gangsterism and drug issues

Pupils urged to refrain from getting involved in criminal activities.

A school talk was held earlier today  at Mncube High School in Mofolo North.

The talk was headed by the Department of Social Development, Moafrika Itlhokomele, SANCA and the Moroka Police.

The talk addressed issues of gangsterism, drug abuse and further provided career guidance.

Communication officer of the Moroka Police Station, John Serala said all pupils at the school were addressed.

“The response was excellent as even the teachers were part of the talk.

“We urged pupils not to be part of the gangs as it will lead them to jail as they will have to commit crime just to fit in the group.

“They must also not allow themselves to be used by the drug lords to sell drugs at their schools because they will be arrested and the criminal case will affect their future,” Serala said.

He said this will be an ongoing project in the Moroka policing area.
