Petrol price to go up by 96 cents a litre

The department believes that the price of crude oil will stabilise around the current level and as such no major price shocks are expected in the future.

The price of petrol will increase by 96 cents a litre from Wednesday, the Energy Department has said.

Diesel will go up by 74 cents a litre while paraffin will increase by 73 cents. The department said it believes that the price of crude oil will stabilise around the current level and as such no major price shocks are expected in the future.

However, the fuel and Road Accident Fund Levies that were announced by Nhlanhla Nene the Minister of Finance during the Budget Speech will be implemented on 1 April. –SAnews.gov.za
