Dobsonville Police found two fake firearms during a night patrol at Siphiwe Village Hostel.
Police confiscated the firearms after receiving information from the community about people terrorising the neighbourhood.
Communications officer, constable Mzwakhe Xazi said the suspects were approached on different occasions but would always run away.
This time they ran and left the firearms behind.
Xazi said the suspects have been using these toys to rob people of their valuables.
“We appreciate the information supplied by the community and we urge them to do that regularly,” said Xazi.
The suspects are still on the run as no arrests have been made.
