First it happened in Doornkop (Snake Park) when public violence irrupted following the death of a 15-year-old boy on Monday.
This angered some locals as they went on the rampage and looted foreign-owned shops, but it is unclear as to why this violence occurred in Bramfischer and parts of Dobsonville last night.
Local supermarkets were vandalised and shop owners threatened.
In one shop near Bramfischer Spar electrical appliances such as kettles, television sets and speakers were stolen.
Over 10 metro police vehicles were seen patrolling and escorting foreign shopkeepers during the incident.
Police have not issued a statement on yesterday’s attacks.
