Sanco sets boundaries ahead of project

Residents to benefit from an upcoming community project.

The South African National Civic Organisation (Sanco) recently held a public meeting with residents from Bramfischer Block Seven, Nine and Ten.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss issues relating to the upcoming community project of road upgrading.

Sanco chairperson Setlamorago Thobejane said the project will take place in Ward 44, an area led by councillor George Lekgetho.

Thobejane said the civic movement will ensure the project benefits the unemployed.

“People in the closest area to where the project will take place should apply and community leaders should ensure that it thrives,” he said.

The project is still on hold because it is without a Community Liaison Officer (CLO).

Thobejane said: “Papers that advertise the position have not been given out.”

Despite the announcement of this project – questions were raised – as to why should community projects benefit executive members of the ANC and Sanco?

Thobejane’s response was that: “I can’t argue with such allegations since the complainant singled out names, however, the people who conduct interviews in Florida should know.”
