ANC, PCO hold a cleaning campaign

Looking after the environment, making it green.

The Zone Seven ANC members plus ward councillors were among those that participated in a cleaning campaign at Forte High School.

The Parliamentary Constituency Office (PCO) organised the campaign which lasted for a week.

Zone Seven ANC chairperson, Sphiwe Mbongo said the visits were aimed at assessing school readiness and the overall monitoring before schools re-opened.

Mbongo said: “We identified a few schools in Dobsonville and Meadowlands to do a clean-up campaign and this has become a yearly thing.”

He said the party commits to ensuring that schools do their best academically and that the environment is safe for learning.

Ward councillor George Lekgetho said the Department of Education, School Governing Body, teachers, pupils and parents are the pillars of the education system.

“I am pleased of what our schools continue to achieve and I urge everybody to persistently work hard,” said Lekgetho.
