Principal not happy with school’s pass rate

Tetelo Secondary School hopes to do better than last year.

Although Gauteng is the province with the highest matric pass rate, some schools in the province have lowered their rates.

Tetelo Secondary School, which is known as one of the highly performing schools in Soweto has dropped its pass rate.

The school went from a high of 97, 06% in 2013 to 90, 90% in 2014 where 110 pupils wrote last year and only 100 passed.

Linda Molefe, who is the principal of the school is not happy with the results they obtained and already has an action plan for 2015

“I feel bad about the results we obtained but we are hoping to improve this year,” said Molefe.

He also said that in order for them to do better this year, they are going to give in extra work and start early with morning and Saturday classes.

“We are ready and we will prepare the class of 2015 early so that we improve our results and go back to where we belong.

“We will do anything in our power to make sure that the class of 2015 gets better results,” said Molefe.
