Moneylender robbed

Robbers flee with R 8000 taken from a moneylender.

A moneylender in Emndeni ran at a loss for the week after two suspects allegedly robbed him of R 8000 at his home.

Naledi police communications officer Thulani Mbambala said the police arrested two suspects last week Tuesday after they entered the moneylender’s home pretending to be customers who had come to borrow money.

Mbambala says the suspects were apprehended on the same day at around 6pm and a case of house robbery was opened.

Mbambala says the suspects allegedly entered the house under false pretence and threatened the moneylender after they pointed at him with a firearm and knife and they then ransacked the house.

According to Mbambala, they took a total amount of R 8000 and two cellphones and then fled the scene in a white BMW.

The vehicle was circulated and found by the police in Dobsonville and the suspects were detained in Jabulani pending their court appearance which is due for this week.
