Power system to remain tight

Residents urged to switch off non essential appliances during the day to help avoid rotational load shedding.

According to Eskom, electricity system was constrained on Monday and Tuesday.

Emergency reserves were used through the evening peaks.

Eskom reported that any unforeseen technical problems at power stations or an increase in demand due to weather conditions could necessitate the implementation of rotational load shedding.

“Regular updates on the power supply situation though various media will be provided,” reported Eskom.

Eskom calls on consumers to urgently switch of geysers, air conditioners and all non essential appliances throughout the day to limit the impact of rotational load shedding.
