Motorcade for 16 Days campaign

Meadowlands Police’s Social Crime Prevention Unit, together with the Community Policing Forum (CPF) embarked on a motorcade today to raise awareness against domestic violence.

The campaign is scheduled to take place over the next weeks as part of the provincial government’s 16 Days of Activism for no violence against Women and Children.

The motorcade led by Constable Marcia Maputle kick-started at Meadowlands Zone Two where pamphlets and advice was given to the community by volunteers.

The police pleaded with the community to partner together in eradicating social ills.

“Everybody must act against domestic violence throughout the year” said Communication Officer, Constable Sibusiso Chauke, “We encourage neighbours to report cases in the event that victims do not come forward.”

The motorcade will be continued by other police stations within Soweto.
