Public clinics to be transformed

Government to fast track priority programmes.

Operation Phakamisa Phase Two is expected to renovate all public sector clinics into ideal clinics which will provide good quality care to all communities.

These were the words of President Jacob Zuma, as he officially launched this new phase of the project yesterday.

The first phase of this project was initially launched in July.

According to Zuma, the public health sector hopes it will better the quality of care provided in its 3 500 Primary Health Care (PHC) facilities and will include the government clinics and the Community Health Centres (CHCs).

“Through Operation Phakisa Phase Two, work will involve transforming the existing clinics and CHCs into ideal clinics, which will be proudly utilised by all South Africans, due to the enhanced quality of services they will provide.

“The project is set to fast track the implementation of government priority programmes,” Zuma said.
