Pirates fans mourn for Meyiwa

Meyiwa’s passing affects the nation.

Orlando Pirates fans are known to be hyperactive because they are always optimistic about their team.

Other teams usually say “Pirates win before the game begins” because the fans always set a high bar that their team will win and that is not always the case.

Things were tense on Monday after the news broke on Sunday night that Senzo Meyiwa has been shot dead.

The loss of the Bhakaniya keeper did not only affect the “five skippers” fans but all football lovers as he was the Captain of Bafana Bafana.

Collins Mthandazo, who is well known as “OrlandoGhost” on social networks as one of the most loyal fans of Orlando Pirates said that he was deeply hurt by the passing of Meyiwa.

“Men don’t cry but on Sunday night tears rolled down uncontrollably after hearing that the nation has been robbed of a great talent in Senzo Robert Meyiwa, a great captain, who led his club Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana with distinction,” said Mthandazo.

Orlando Pirates fans still continue to mourn for their goalkeeper after they pledged to wear Pirates t-shirts or clothes that resemble the colours of the team.
