Gauteng reports good start to final exams

The department of education has a team in place to help monitor final examinations.

The Department of Basic Education has reported that there was a good start to this year’s final matric examinations which started yesterday.

The department said in a statement that Grade 12 examinations at all set centres in the province got off to a good start.

There were no incidents or irregularities reported, the department said.

“All districts reported that distribution of question papers went well and most schools started examinations on time.

“We have further established an exams war room to help in monitoring the process and a quick response team has been put on standby to respond in case any incidents occur,” the department said.
