DA strongly condemns attacks on defenceless elderly
Johannesburg residents need to feel safe.
Democratic Alliance in the city of Johannesburg strongly condemns the attack on defenceless elderly by faceless people, this after a 63 year old pensioner Dora Mbele was shot by unknown attackers
Mbele was allegedly shot by three men who knocked on her door in Protea South selling seeds.
She is now in Intensive Care Unit at Baragwaneth Hospital fighting for her life
A case has been opened at Protea Glen Police Station and an investigation is still ongoing.
Councillor Maureen Mnisi and the political head for Johannesburg south constituency, Patrick Atkinson went to visit the Mbele family.
“The crime rate in Johannesburg is increasing at an alarming rate, we therefore call on SAPS Johannesburg to not be lenient on monsters tearing away our moral fibre.
“Johannesburg residents need to feel safe and those who have powers to ensure that must do it,” said Mnisi.
