Children’s lives end in tragedy

Parents urged to look after their children or to know their whereabouts.

Two seven-year-old children from Bramfischer were killed by a sewage concrete pipe near Siyabonga Secondary School yesterday around 4pm.

Apparently the children were walking home from school when they decided to go play at the site where the pipes were placed.

It is suspected that the pipes may have rolled over the children as they were playing and caused severe head injuries.

According to SAPS Dobsonville’s communications officer constable Mzwakhe Xazi, the pipes belong to a certain construction company.

Xazi said an inquest case has been opened.

“Thanks to a passer-by who alerted the police of this incident,” he said.

Xazi offered his condolences to the families.
