35 arrests in Orlando over the weekend
Residents are urged to contact police if they have any information about the robberies at the ‘Red Bridge’.
According to head of communications Captain Nomvula Mbense there were 35 arrests this past weekend.
Two arrested for illegal dealing in liquor, seven for possession of dagga, possession of stolen vehicle one, possession of stolen goods four, common robbery one, assault common one, assault grievous bodily harm one, fraud one and drunken driving 17.
Mbense also said that residents should be cautious when crossing the bridge in Mzimhlophe which is popularly known as ‘Red Bridge’.
There have been many reported cases of residents been robed while crossing the bridge. We have put in place police who will patrol the area to make sure residents can cross the bridge safely,” she said.
