Kidnapped woman still not found

Police urge taxi commuters to make sure to look for the taxi’s association sticker and also avoid getting into an empty taxi or a taxi filled with men only.

A 39-year old woman known as Nozwakazi Luthuli was allegedly kidnapped on September 21 at Key Street in Protea Glen Extension 29.

The woman, employed at Chris Hani Baragwaneth Hospital left her house on Sunday going to work.

She never arrived at work in Diepkloof on the same day and later that day, her colleague received a message on her cellphone saying that she has been kidnapped by people using a taxi.

The victim’s sister received the same message from her saying that she has been kidnapped by people using a taxi and that she does not know where she is.

She said that she does not want to get hurt and that all the people need is money and they should contact her husband.

The victim’s sister and her colleague opened a case of kidnapping.

Vincent Mashiteng, communications officer at Protea Glen Police Station said that people should be aware of the taxis they take.

“Before getting into a taxi, make sure you look for the taxi’s association sticker and also avoid getting into an empty taxi or a taxi filled with men only,” said Mashiteng.

At this stage the victim has not been found and a kidnapping case is being investigated.
