As from October 1, only qualifying Zimbabweans will be able to apply for new permits.
This announcement was made by the Minister of Home Affairs, Malusi Gigaba yesterday.
He said: “The Department of Home Affairs is ready to process the Zimbabwe Special Permits applications and as a result, there are offices throughout the country allocated to making this possible.
“These permits will then expire in December 2017.
“We will commence with accepting these applications via the website (https://www.vfsglobal.com/zsp/southafrica) as of October 1.”
The office which will be handling this matter in the Gauteng province is in Midrand.
The department has further organised 120 officials who will assist candidates with these applications.
