Most water reservoirs recover

Some residents still without water two weeks later.

Johannesburg Water, the City of Johannesburg’s water and sanitation service provider would like to inform residents that most of the water reservoirs and towers are recovering at a good rate.

Less than 2% of the residents of the City are still experiencing low water pressures and no water situation.

The Hursthill reservoir, Alexandra Park, President Park and Randjesfontein water towers have recovered and suburbs such as Wesdene, Hursthill, Albertville, Martindale, Triomf, Westbury, Mount Clare, Coronationville, Bosmont, Newlands, Benrose, Denver and Malvern have their water supply back.

The facilities that still have no water are South Hills tower and Rabie Ridge reservoir.

The suburbs supplied by the two storage facilities include Rabie Ridge, Mayibuye, Risana, South Hills, Thulisa Park and surrounding areas.

Rand Water has made temporary provision for the areas that are still affected by way of water tanks.

In the Rabie Ridge area, we have roaming tanks and in South Hills we have a stationery tank at the water tower and at 21 Risana Rd.

Special attention and priority to hospitals, clinics and schools until the situation improves.

Rand Water would like to plead with residents that do have water to use water sparingly during this period.
