Libraries are of great importance – Ranko

Turnout increases at library during exam period.

Studying has not stopped at the Bramfischer Library as pupils continue to make use of City facility for a greater purpose.

The acting assistant director for the City of Johannesburg Libraries, Eunice Ranko said the turnout at the library has been remarkable since many pupils continue to attend.

Ranko said there are programmes that City libraries run like the ‘Battle of the books’.

“The purpose of the programmes is basically to encourage people to learn to read or to continue reading,” she said.

The Bramfischer Library opens six days a week from Monday to Saturday.

The library opens from 9am to 5pm.
