A Metro Police Officer and her boyfriend were found dead in their rented house at Meadowlands Zone Nine.
The couple was found by colleagues of the woman midmorning of September 12 after they went to the house when the woman failed to report for duty in the morning.
It is suspected that the boyfriend aged 36, shot the woman with her service pistol before turning the gun on himself.
“The reason for the shootout is not yet clear but a case of murder and an inquest docket have been opened,” said constable Sibusiso Chauke, communications officer at Meadowlands Police Station.
No children were involved in the ordeal.
