Protea Glen Secondary awards influential women of SA

'Everyday is Women’s Day'.

Protea Glen Secondary School held the Women’s Day Awards in acknowledgement of the “seven most influential women” in South Africa.

The purpose of the event was to motivate female pupils and also give thanks to the women who played a vital role in shaping this country.

These influential women include Ria Ledwaba, Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, Yvonne Chaka-chaka, Jessica Motaung, Maria Ramos, Letitia Visser and Maite Nkoana- Mashabane.

“We want to give thanks to all the women and the role they play in our lives. Everything in this world needs a woman’s touch. We couldn’t do this on Women’s Day but since every day is a Women’s Day, we want to show these women appreciation and that they must continue being the greatest mothers of our nation,” said Joseph Mabaso, principal of the school.

The school also went on by awarding female pupils who made a difference and led the school as RCL’s.

Some of the” seven most influential women” could not make it and sent letters of apology but Ria Ledwaba decided to send her daughter, Dorcas Zulu to receive an award on her behalf.
