Truth about Denzel

Growing up in Eldos shaped Denzel.

Denzel Edgar an actor, writer and voice over artist said growing up in Eldos shaped who he is today.

“While I was growing up in Eldos, our role models were the Majimbos and we were also exposed to drugs and alcohol and I must admit that I participated in all these things. Luckily I had a strict father who didn’t mind kicking it out of me, hy het my uit getrap,” Edgar said.

He attended school in Bosmont to keep him from bad influences and says that it worked.

“I didn’t have much time for friends when I came home from school, but that made it easier for me to move away from social ills,” Edgar said.

He spent four days with high school pupils enacting the dangers of a reckless lifestyle.

The play, Truth About You, educates on Aids.

“All education was instructing people what to do but people don’t like to be told what to do. At the time of writing the play, I wanted to highlight the true sickness and that is that we don’t want to be lonely. The pursuit of happiness is where we lose ourselves,” Edgar said.

He said that it is important to be yourself because everybody else is already taken.
