Road expansion to help ease traffic

Government acts on motorists' plea.

Traffic congestion at the Tshepo-Themba intersection could soon be a thing of the past as the road has been earmarked to be expanded.

Motorists have had trouble trying to escape the traffic during peak hours as they drive to and from work.

The road expansion project was proposed by pedestrians, taxi users of the Dorljota and the councillor of Ward 44, George Lekgetho.

Lekgetho says in 2012 he met with representatives from the association and engineers to discuss how to resolve the problem.

“Government has responded by backing this project and it forms part and parcel of the service delivery targeted for this community,” he said.
