Eldorado Park police arrested two men on July 9, who were in possession of stolen cables.
The men were caught at 6am in a red taxi at the corner of Union Road and Golden Highway.
Police have recovered copper which weighed 346kg, it was later discovered that the vehicle which was used was also stolen.
The cables and vehicle have been seized.
The police are pleased to have been able to work with the community who responded timeously with the information about the cable theft.
The police still urge the community to report theft of cables and copper.
“We will continue to focus on these particular crimes as it causes a lot of disruption and discomfort in our policing precinct and the community suffers a lot,” said Captain Philemon Khorombi.
