MEC for infrastructural development, Lindi Manyathula Khoza, visited the Zola/ Jabulani hospital last week to do a routine maintenance check.
The purpose of the check was to make sure that the structure, including the building, meets the stipulated standards.
Most importantly, the MEC came to review the building and make recommendations on parts of the building that can be improved on.
The MEC does these kinds of checks to make sure that public facilities are in good operating condition and will remain in that condition for the foreseeable future.
Once the visit was completed at Jabulani hospital, the MEC made notes of recommendation but said that her overall view is that the building is in good working condition.
She made suggestions on specific areas of improvement such as on equipment that would better serve patients.
