Do not be lured into buying stolen goods

Residents urged to refrain from buying stolen goods.

Residents are urged not to fall prey to criminals posing as shop assistants and running away with their money.

“Many cases are being reported where residents opted not to purchase goods the legal way and later being scammed and losing all their money,” said Kliptown Police spokesperson, Nondumiso Mpantsha.

She urged residents to go directly into stores and buy whatever they want instead of thinking that they can get a bargain by buying stolen goods.

“When one gets to the police station and reports that they have been scammed out of their money because they were trying to buy things illegally. They were also committing a crime,” she said.

She said residents should report crimes and work with the police in order to curb the spread of crime in Pimville.
