Pupils feature on national television

Pupils from Emshukantambo Senior Secondary get their 15 minutes of fame.

Emshukantambo Senior Secondary School pupils recently visited the Geleza Nathi Studios.

What was meant to be an invite for Grade 12 pupils, it was the junior class that represented the school.

“These young people made history as they participated in the programme with older pupils,” said Pule Halhane.

The aim of the programme was for pupils to participate in a Youth Day themed show but because of their good communication skills they were asked to do different voice over snippets for future shows.

“The opportunity that was given to us was unexpected. It was overwhelming to be in front of camera while learning the basics of television,” said Motshidisi Lakganya (14).

Rabiah Limela (14) said the experience was one of a kind and she wouldn’t trade it for anything.

“After what I saw at the studios, my love for television was engraved and I will certainly pursue a career in that industry as a stage manager,” she said.

Ntokozo Buthelezi (14) said he enjoyed himself as they learnt about different careers and this contributed to him pursuing a career in science.

“The experience taught me in life you have to face difficulties and not be scared of anything. I found myself having to step out of my comfort zone and try something different,” said Ntando Masinga (16).
