Tank donation to aid food garden project

Miss Earth gives to the less fortunate.

In celebrating World Environment Week, Diakonia Aids Ministry (DAM) staff was overwhelmed as they received a donation of a water reservoir from Miss Earth South Africa and Jojo Tanks.

This donation of the tank was handed over to the team yesterday, with the intention of bettering the food garden of the centre that feeds about 350 orphan and vulnerable children daily.

Miss Earth South Africa, Ashanti Mnanga said that water is a scarce commodity which needs to be preserved and respected by all.

She said that she encourages communities to also start seeing the importance of rain water harvesting as this will assist them in caring for their food gardens.

Executive Director of DAM, Rev Selby Mugivhi said they are thankful for the tank because through this, they will continue to be able to feed the children who are their first priority.
