Twenty two year old Sakhile Mcunu from Orlando West is a top 50 Mr South Africa finalist.
The energetic IT student says that he has a zest for life and he believes that winning Mr South Africa will give him the opportunity to inspire others.
Mcunu describes himself as an ambitious, compassionate and understanding individual who loves interacting with all kinds of people.
“I have always loved watching beauty pageants and at the back of my mind I knew that one day I will enter Mr South Africa. I believe that I have so much to share and the Mr South Africa platform will give me the opportunity to go out there and be a helping hand to my community,” he said.
Mcunu is not only an IT student and an aspiring model but he is a passionate dance.
He is currently one of the talents on SA’s Got Talent.
He says he loves expressing himself through performance and never misses the opportunity to perform.
“I believe that one should never be stagnant, you should always be moving and growing yourself. I believe we have so many talents and it is up to us to discover them and express them,” he said.
Mcunu says he hopes to be a role model to young people in his community.
He believes that if he could rise from adversity anyone can.
“Don’t focus on what you lack or your unfortunate background stand up and make the best of your situation,” he said.
Mcunu said winning Mr South Africa will not be an opportunity to get famous but rather to stand up and make a difference in the country and in his community.
