Residents that use public transport and leave their homes early in the mornings and return late in the evening are urged to travel in groups to and from taxi stops.
This comes after there have been a lot of armed robberies reported.
“Residents need to be on the lookout and walk in groups so that they get to their destinations safely. We have had many cases reported of residents being robbed of their possessions while walking to bus and taxi stops,” said Kliptown Police spokesperson, Captain Nondumiso Mpantsha.
Mpantsha said residents should work with the police to curb the spread of crime in the township.
