AfriSam launches Business Development Centre

New business centre built for vendors.

Jackie Mapiloko of AfriSam communications, confirmed that a Business Development Centre was opened on May 20 on the property adjacent AfriSam’s Roodepoort Cement operation along Elias Motsoaledi Road.

AfriSam opened its Supplier Development Centre in support of the company’s Enterprise Development Programme.

The programme was introduced to enforce change in the country.

Mapiloko said AfriSam aims to identify black-owned, SMMEs in areas where the company operates through the programme and to support small businesses.

“Entrepreneurs will be provided with the necessary skill to efficiently run their businesses and ultimately be added in the company’s database of registered vendors,” said Mapiloko.

The Centre for Supplier Development, a company focusing on SMME development, has been appointed to provide entrepreneurs from identified communities with training and development that will incapacitate them to a level where they can do business with AfriSam and other companies.

Of the entrepreneurs that will be identified and developed in Gauteng and Lichtenburg, a shortlist of suppliers will be enrolled in an accelerated development programme, with the aim of ensuring that they are ready to do business with AfriSam.
