Three suspects arrested after shoot out

Police recover stolen vehicles.

The neighbours on either side of murder-accused Oscar Pistorius’s house did not hear gunshots on Valentine’s Day early morning last year, the High Court in Pretoria heard on Tuesday.

Three suspects were arrested after police who were patrolling approached a suspicious looking vehicle in Jabulani Last week.

Police spokesperson Kay Makhubela said the suspects were in a Toyota Avanza near the Doornfontien cemetery in Jabulani when police approached a suspicious looking vehicle and the suspects came out of the Avanza and opened fire at the police.

According to Makhubela, three suspects were arrested and three vehicles including a Mercedes Benz, a Toyota bakkie and a Toyota conquest were found after the shootout.

The suspects appeared at the Protea Magistrate court last Monday and charges of possession of stolen property and attempted murder were opened.
