Parents must register their children before it is too late

Parents are urged to register their children before May 27.

The Gauteng public school registration for the year 2015 Grade 1-8 is underway.

The registration will be closed on May 27.

The administrator at Inkwekwezi Primary School Andrew Mogale said that parents should register as soon as possible.

“We need parents to register now so that their children can be on our system. Parents have a bad habit of registering their children at the start of the year and we might not be able to accommodate their children,” he said.

Mogale said that parents should register early so that they can plan.

“The department of education takes the information to determine how many children are going to be in the school so that they can provide text books and stationery. When a parent brings their child late, it creates problems for the school because we did not plan for that child,” he said.

Mogale said that parents must carry the necessary documents to the school for registration.

“Parents must have a birth certificate or certified copy, at least one parent’s ID or guardian, immunisation card (for grade 1) and latest school report card,” he said.
