Campaigning ends as voters go to polls

May 7 has finally arrived.

May 7 has arrived, all the campaigning has come to an end as voters take to their polls, their votes.

The ANC, EFF and the DA have been head to head in the media, all pleading their case, why they should be voted for at every chance they get.

The EFF and DA accused the SABC of not airing their campaign advertisements, the courts were even involved.

On April 29, the EFF marched to the SABC where they voiced out their dissatisfaction about the banning of their advert.

EFF leader Julius Malema said: “The SABC wrongly and illegally banned this advert because of the EFF’s decisive position, shown in the advert, that in an instance when it takes government it will physically destroy the undemocratically imposed e-tolls,”

The DA’s advert was also banned by the SABC but could be viewed on YouTube.

A statement release by the DA read: “Our opponents are doing their best to shut us down, but they can’t stop the groundswell of support for the DA in all communities”.

The decision now lies with the voters who will decide who they want to govern.

EFF and DA have remained confident about a victory despite their accusations of unfairness from the SABC and the ANC.
