No arrests have yet been made after a 24-year-old man was found hanging from an electricity pole in Orlando East on Friday April 25.
The deceased was noticed by a young boy who was on his way to school.
“The boy said he noticed a man standing by an electric pole. He went to ask his parents who it was and they found that the man had been hanged,” said warrant officer Kay Makhubela.
Makhubela said that the deceased’s hands were tied to his back and his ear was cut off.
“It is apparent that the deceased did not hang himself as his hands were tied to his back. We appeal to residents who might have any information on this case to come forward to the police and report,” he said.
A case of murder has been opened.
